Hing Kee

Hing Kee is one of my favorite spots in China Town. It's known for it's pho (aka "delicious noodle soup") and xiao long bao ("soup dumplings").
Pre-covid, I loved going there and dining in.
Given the circumstances, delivery is the safe way to go. After a long stint on Keto, I was craving Chinese so I figured why not order out. I wanted to try something new from here so I ordered the Beef Cubes in Black Pepper Sauce, and Mapo Tofu.
Verdict:
The beef cubes are delicious, but they are also dense and fatty. I recommend trying this on your cheat day because they can be intense: all you need is a few cubes. Try it and you will get what I am saying. Alternatively, the Mapo Tofu was exactly what I expected it to be: silky, savory, and the perfect kick to a traditional Chinese dish.
Other dishes I recommend you try here are the pho, arguably the best pho in China Town, xiao long bao, and the Japanese Tofu and Enoki Mushroom. It is mesmerizing watching the chefs in front assemble the dumplings. You sit and ask yourself how many they must have assembled for it to look that easy.
